A Tour in the Dolomites
6 days - 5/11 September 2004

The Dolomite Mountains in the Italian Alps have a unique relief characterised by their verticality yet are suitable for hikers. The development of "via Ferrata" and free climbing on huge rock faces has an aesthetic, sportive and historical basis. Unesco has declared them a worldwide site and it is worthwhile to remember the achievement both alpine and military in this enriched area. The hiking takes place in the heart of the Dolomites and we will discover the most beautiful groups of mountains.

Kilimandjaro
Kenya-Tanzania
9 jours -winter 2005

Whether we are a walker an alpinist or a tourist, the vision of Kilimandjaro is breadth taking : a mountain on its own, snow covered, capped and higher than 6000m without a mountain range or valley anywhere near it. It is visible from the African Plains and very respected by the local community .
On the same plateau, separated by several kilometres, there are two summits: the Dome du Kibo, an ancient volcano consisting of three craters, 5895m high, which has a famous silhouette covered with eternal snow, and the Mawenzi (5151m).
The name Kibo means "White Mountain" and Mawenzi means "Black Mountain". On the 8 th of December 1961, Independence Day, a symbolic flame of freedom was lit on Kibo and the mountain was re -christened liberty peak or Uhuru Peak.
After doing the Tour de Mont Blanc, the highest summits in Europe, why not attempt the Tanzanian equivalent on the "roof" of Africa.
This is a circuit that allows us to get away from the beaten track and we use Naremoru- Rongai's path and come down by the usual route. Coming back to Nairobi, we take the time to go onto the plains to photograph animals in the Amboseli, a well-known safari park: giraffes elephants, lions, gazelles and zebras ...

Haut-Atlas du Maroc
M'Goun area
15 days - spring 2004

Last autumn, I spent 2 months in Morocco and during this period I took the time to discover the lost villages in the High Atlas Mountains, meeting shepherds and nomads. I loved this country. The people were welcoming and big-hearted. The Mgoun region is less arid than others and has a variety of landscapes from deep gorges to high dessert plateaus. Mustapha, a local guide, is always looking for new routes and he introduces us to the area, and made us live to the rhythm of their culture.
