the big routes.
Here are some of the beautiful, seldom climbed routes ...

the Aiguilles de Chamonix

The Grand Charmoz to the Aiguille du Midi, departing in whichever direction has always inspired the regular climbers in this area. It can be attempted in its entirety (2 bivvies) or partially or as two young Swiss climbers did in 1964 to include the ascent of Mont Blanc.

The rock is excellent throughout the route, the places to bivouac comfortable and the variety of climbing makes this route an exceptional experience.

Difficulty: D - a mixed route with several 5+ pitches.
Level: 5 on rock and good crampon technique.

Mont Blanc - The Royal Traverse.

Getting to the Durier Refuge is already an adventure whether we come from the Domes de Miage or from Montjoie and the evening spent at the "nid d'aigle" is worth is just on it's own ! We couldn't dream for more. The northeast summit of the Aiguille de Bionnassay is both impressive and elusive. Those with vertigo should stay away !

difficulty : AD mixed - good crampon technique.

Mont Dolent

The Mont Dolent is one of the rare summits shared between three countries : France, Italy and Switzerland. This route starts off on a mountain shaped as a pyramid that looks as pure as a crystal but in fact it can be deceptively savage. The access to the glacier is spectacular and the summit promises an unusual panoramic view of the Mont Blanc Range.

difficulty : AD essentially on the glacier - good crampon technique.
